7 Quick Tips For Cosmos

November 09, 2020

Click on the button to watch the video with 7 tips for Cosmos.

Remember, in this program, you will become autonomous and independent in your learning. You can choose when and where you learn, and you can choose how much time you spend in Cosmos each day.

However, you must read and study all the relevant lessons before you complete an assignment. You must complete all the assignments by the deadline.

Please make sure you are putting forth the effort to learn the lessons by yourself before you complete the assignments that are due on Sundays.

Checking Teacher Feedback Will Make You Feel Great!

October 23, 2020

I leave feedback on all written assignments. I will always tell you what you did well, I'll give you some tips to improve, or I'll provide resources to help you do even better. Sometimes, I will even include something funny to make you laugh or a surprise if you have done exceptionally well. Checking feedback can be addictive because you'll feel so good about yourself once you've read it.

To see my comments:

  1. Go to the "Performance" tab in Cosmos

  2. Click on the grade for that specific assignment.

  3. You can also check the "Activity Log" on your homepage to see your activity stream

Note: I will sometimes allow you to resubmit an assignment.

How Content Live Sessions Can Increase Your Grades!

October 19, 2020

This week, I will be hosting Content Live Sessions for all English classes. You may be wondering how you will benefit from attending.

Here are at least 5 ways you will benefit:

  1. You will receive an extra 100 points towards one assignment in your course.

  2. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about assignments.

  3. You will have the chance to practice your English.

  4. You will see your peers and engage in conversations.

  5. You will learn additional information that will benefit you in the course and in the program.

Will you attend?

Why do I have a zero for the 'Welcome Meeting'?

October 12, 2020

Why do I have a zero for the 'Welcome Meeting' in Cosmos if I attended the live session?

This is a common question and I bet you're frustrated!

You may have received a zero because either:

  • You attended the live session, but you did not submit the 'Welcome Meeting' assignment in Cosmos or

  • You submitted the assignment in one course but you forgot to do it in the other course or

What can I do now?

  • Click the "Grades" tab in Cosmos and click on the actual grade for that specific assignment. You can also click on the "Activity Stream".

  • If you do not know how to complete the assignment download the step-by-step guide.

Please note: Your grade will remain a 0% until you go in and complete the assignment.

What Happens After the First Week?

October 09, 2020

Congratulations on completing the first week of Dual Diploma!

You may be wondering what you can do this weekend.

You should begin working on the following items:

  1. Take the pre-tests for each of your courses

  2. Submit the assignment in Cosmos for Live Session 1 – “Welcome Meeting”.  For this assignment, you only need to submit a sentence with the date and time of our meeting.  You will need to do this for every course that you are taking.

  3. Check your email for the "Week 1 Update".
